A Natural sulfur combustion process in a large amount occurred on the crater bottom made a big blue lava. It is only be seen at night, sometimes it is hard to be seen when the weather is windy and foggy. Rainy season could be more challenging to do the ijen hike. - Sulfur Mining Activities
You could see the sulfur mining activities at the bottom crater, look how sulfur traditionally mine. Meet "Maybe" the strongest men in the world, men who carry 100 Kg of sulfur rocks on their shoulder up and down the volcano. - Sunrise Sight Seeing
Mostly the sunrise could be seen in dry season between May - September, it is hard to see the it on Rainy Season as it will be cloudy.
